About Zamakan
Zamakan is a nomadic, non-profit platform that aims to create opportunities for artists, cultural workers and creatives from West Asia and North Africa* to pursue and develop their artistic and creative practices, and to engage in critical exchange, dialogue and learning, in order to foster creative communities
*(We are not bound by geographical borders, but draw on a re-imagined mode of relation, one that is defined by shared and common histories, values and modes of being)

How we work
- We believe that art and creativity helps individuals and communities to collectively reflect on contemporary social realities and act as a realm for imaginative thinking and exploration to bring about social justice and change
- We value the creativity behind work that is original, thought-provoking and non-tokenistic, that invites audiences to traverse foreign terrains and access new perspectives
- We work collaboratively by building and nurturing relationships, with the aim of creating new spaces for interdisciplinary exchange and dialogue
- We embody a learning mindset, one that brings about personal and collective growth
